He watched him through binoculars. That man walked at a calm, determined pace with a backpack on his back. If he doesn’t have any survival gear in that backpack, the mountains might take him, he thought and put the binoculars down. He looked beyond himself into the gorge. The mountains were his passion. Their beauty and wildness had bound him to this land. It’s time to be on my way. I’ll make it home to the waterfalls before dark. Whoever comes here must have the strength to survive. You’re on your own, man.
